As some of you might know, apart from working for Voxbiblia, I'm also working for Gatorhole for a while. Gatorhole's a pretty cool company that has launched some really great products, and Load Impact is one of them!
Load Impact is a load testing tool that helps to gauge the performance of a website. To put it in very basic non-techy terms, what load testing does is that it simulates a certain number of users all logging into one application at the same time.
Take Facebook for example. It's slowwwwww. Especially when there are 50,000+ users logging in at the same time. So, the website (possibly) crashes and people get annoyed. Now if this happens too often, people get annoyed and leave - no matter how nice the site is. For online companies, this poses a very serious problem. That's where load testing comes in - it simulates users and helps the user to improve their website performance.
Load testing was previously a very expensive tool which required quite a bit of technical expertise to run and interpret. Now, I'm not a tech person (in fact people who know me probably say that I'm the one who messes up the script!), but Load Impact came up with an online load testing service that made running and interpreting a load test simple enough for a complete novice like me to understand :D Try load testing a site using the widget below, and you'll see exactly what I mean!
I'll share more tidbits about load testing next time :P I'll put in some interesting stuff on load testing the cloud as well, which I hope will interest my CS3216 buddies :D

突然好想你
And so I suddenly went into KTV mode, and started digging up several old songs that we used to sing, and i remembered laughing over the MV bloopers, reminiscing about the words, keyiwen singing 傻瓜，tony singing K歌之王...(Edit: it was hilda who sang super junior sorry sorry! haha..)
I miss these times, the times in combat skirmish that were really good - times where we did stupid things, silly things, fun things.. and really just had the time of our lives. So, even though this image is marred by some things that have happened, I will not regret, and I will not wish that I'd not known these people. Rather, I'll cherish these beautiful memories, hold them close to my heart, and remember that I've made, at least, a friend worth having in the midst of this.
i can't say that i understand that feeling of loss, the feeling of emptiness, the feeling of missing someone who was so close, yet so far. But i am here. to listen, to lend a shoulder, to support you in every way i can. that much i can promise.
i wish i could be there by your side, for you.

Viral marketing madness!
I'm researching on viral marketing (amongst other things) today, for work (talk about loving work!) and it's been something that I've been interested in ever since my days in NYP!
Here were a few cool things that I dug up:

We laugh when we see this, but think - aren't we like that too? When things go wrong, instead of working it out, we stop and wait for others to come and rescue us.

What makes life worth living?
Things that i miss...
2) Shooting - Oh how i miss shooting! :S:S:S coach coach, i miss you!
And now that someone's back in sunny Singapore (and very reluctant to come back), i miss grocery shopping and late night video editing as well.. come back, quick!
After 15 minutes of starting this post, i realised that i was filling spaces up with people whom i miss being with, and i realised that if i continued, it was going to be a very very very long post. So i scrapped it and made it more 'activity-based'. But honestly, without you guys, these activities would have been meaningless. And i realised, once again, how much i have to be grateful for, because people like you have made my life worth living.
1) Studying (or rather BK-ing) with Noripok, Ally and the rest of the NUS gang allll the way in Simei!
2) Shooting - Oh how i miss shooting! :S:S:S coach coach, i miss you!
3) Doing sound with Joyceling and all my GMC bandmates
4) Doing crazy fun stuff with my LMG pals
